Akt1, also known as "Akt" or protein kinase B (PKB). Its signalling pathway is as follows:
1. Binds to phospholipids in the membrane
2. Phosphorylation by PDK1 and PDK2
3. Lipid phosphatases control the amount of PIP3, thereby modulating the ability of Akt to be activated
4. Protein phosphatases control the amount of phosphorylated Akt.
