english will be the most widely used language in the world. in some points of view maybe chinese may have largest speaking population duo to high population of china,but in geographic view, english might be the most widely used language in the world.
why english is the most widely used language in the world, the reason I think may because the culture export of US and british. duiing the colony age, british becomes the largest country in the world, in every continent British owns many colonies, in these colonies english is the primary language for education and daily life. For example, US and Austrilia are the two major countries which used to be the colony of United Kingdom.
another reason is, after WWII us become the most developed country in the world, during these decade hollywood produce so many movies to export their american lifestyle to other country, during this culture export, people learn english as their second language.
the advantages of english are:
1. english is simple, compare to other major language like Arabic or french, english is the simplest language amoung them. In french to express 'yesterday is a good day' you may need to write like this:'hier est une bonne journée de cours'. Also in french there have many addtional letters like é¸É,ê,â. quite confusing.
2. english is the major coding language in computer, when you using C++ or java, you might need to coding them in english why, because at that time american people holds the coding rule for programming.
