As a child, I developed a keen interest in crafting objects from ordinary materials, such as paper, wood, and glass. My firsthandcrafted creation was a paper airplane, meticulously taught to me by my mother. All that was required was a single sheet of paper. Following her guidance, I adorned my creation with vibrant colors, drawing rabbits, birds, fish, and flowers, imagery that I imagined soaring into the heavens with my plane.
Intrigued, I suspended my planes from the ceiling with string, creating an immersive experience that mimicked walking through a sky filled with my artwork. This simple handcraft remains my most beloved, despite being one of the most basic origami models I've made.
As I've grown, the paper airplane has come to symbolize the cherished moments spent with my mother during my childhood. It echoes her timeless advice to aim high and reach for the stars. To this day, whenever I hold a piece of paper, instinctively, I fold it into a plane, promptly calling to mind my wonderful, carefree days of yore.
