Benetton (1986-2001)
Championships: Team - 1, Drivers - 2 (Schumacher)
Races: 260, Wins: 27, Podiums: 96, Pole Positions: 15
In 1985, the Italian fashion brand Benetton acquired the Toleman team. Though not born in motorsport, this team was no pushover, securing one team championship and two driver championships, marking the beginning of Michael Schumacher's reign. However, in the 2000 season, the team was eyed by Renault, and in 2001, it was acquired by the Renault team.
Outcome: Acquired by Renault, renamed Renault team, ongoing.
Prost (1997-2001)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 83, Wins: 0, Podiums: 0, Pole Positions: 0
Founded by the legendary driver and "Professor of Racing," Alain Prost, this team faced a troubled and unfortunate fate. Prost himself even stated that it was the worst thing in his life. After cycling through five drivers, the team finished ninth in the standings, and in 2001, it declared bankruptcy.
Outcome: No buyer, bankruptcy, finished.
Arrow (1978-2002)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 394, Wins: 0, Podiums: 9, Pole Positions: 1
By 2000, Arrow was already a team that lived by the mantra "survival is victory." Despite its stylish orange and black livery, it couldn't hide the increasingly tight financial situation. In the 2002 mid-season, the team declared bankruptcy, but in 2005, its assets and "racing corpses" were purchased by Super Aguri.
Outcome: Assets sold, rebirth through Super Aguri.
Jaguar (2000-2004)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 85, Wins: 0, Podiums: 2, Pole Positions: 0
Jaguar Racing (Aston Martin) was Ford's F1 project's spokesperson. The team debuted in 2000 with mediocre results but also discovered renowned driver Mark Webber. However, due to the Detroit economy's downturn and Ford's financial strain, the team was eventually abandoned and sold to an Austrian beverage company - Red Bull.
Outcome: Acquired by Red Bull, renamed Red Bull team, ongoing.
Minardi (1985-2005)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 346, Wins: 0, Podiums: 0, Pole Positions: 0
This team was a motivational story in F1 with a tragic ending. Despite its long history, it always lacked money. To survive, the team resorted to various promotional gimmicks, even modifying three F1 cars for fan experiences and discovering the legendary driver Fernando Alonso. After 20 years of hardship, it finally declared bankruptcy and was acquired by Red Bull, renamed Red Bull二队.
Outcome: Acquired by Red Bull, renamed Red Bull二队, ongoing.
Jordan (1991-2005)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 250, Wins: 4, Podiums: 19, Pole Positions: 2
Yes, it's called Jordan Racing, but it has nothing to do with the basketball legend Michael Jordan. Instead, it was named after the team owner. Due to the owner's flamboyant nature, the team became a hot topic, with its racing cars in bright yellow and the owner as a playboy. During their golden period, they also achieved decent results, but in the end, they still lacked money and were sold to a Russian billionaire. (CCTV once sponsored the Jordan Racing team)
Outcome: Acquired by a Russian billionaire, renamed Midland, ongoing.
B. A. R (1999-2005)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 118, Wins: 0, Podiums: 0, Pole Positions: 2
The British American Racing team was also an unruly outfit, operated by a tobacco company, with a "gender-neutral" paint job. However, as the team stabilized, it was gradually taken over by Honda Motor Company. In the 2005 season, Honda officially acquired the team.
Outcome: Acquired by Honda, renamed Honda team, ongoing.
Sauber
As the team's shares still exist, it is not considered the final outcome.
Nowadays, various trendy brands like to collaborate, and Sauber Racing is definitely at the forefront of the industry. The team has repeatedly collaborated, and in 2005, BMW and Williams divorced and married Sauber, renamed BMW Sauber team.
Outcome: BMW investment, renamed BMW Sauber, ongoing.
Midland (2006-2006)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 18, Wins: 0, Podiums: 0, Pole Positions: 0
The Russian billionaire's misfortune did not change乔丹's bad luck. This team went on a "one-year journey" after acquiring Jordan and only lasted six months. The Russian billionaire went bankrupt mid-season, and the team was sold to an Arabian billionaire under the name of the Dutch sports car brand Sparrow.
Outcome: Acquired by an Arabian billionaire, renamed Sparrow, ongoing.
Spyker (2007-2007)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 17, Wins: 0, Podiums: 0, Pole Positions: 0
Yes, you read that right, it's them again. The Arabian billionaire still couldn't break the curse, and Spyker also had a "one-year journey." Although it also declared bankruptcy, Spyker's marketing was quite good, basically reviving this Dutch sports car brand. However, due to the ups and downs, it was eventually acquired by an Indian billionaire.
Outcome: Acquired by an Indian billionaire, renamed Force India, ongoing.
Honda (2006-2008)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 53, Wins: 1, Podiums: 4, Pole Positions: 1
Like Toyota, Honda arrived with great fanfare but ended up as mediocre. In its final years, Toyota relied on the double-decker diffuser to achieve some decent results, making a respectable exit. Ultimately, Honda announced its withdrawal and sold the team to its team manager Ross Brawn at a symbolic price of "1 US dollar."
Outcome: Manager Ross Brawn acquired, renamed Brawn GP, ongoing.
Super Aguri (2006-2008)
Championships: Team - 0, Drivers - 0
Races: 39, Wins: 0, Podiums: 0, Pole Positions: 0
Just by the name, you know how quirky and funny it is. Honda joined F1 and wanted to mimic Ferrari and Red Bull, so they founded a second team, acquiring the "remains" of Arrow's team and participating in the 2008 season with a 2002-era赛车. It was a recipe for disaster, and the team was laughed off the track. Due to Honda's withdrawal, Super Aguri also declared bankruptcy.
Outcome: No buyer, bankruptcy, finished.
Proper F1
This was a "ghost team" that announced its entry into F1 in 2006 but failed to even name itself properly and promptly declared bankruptcy, stillborn.
Outcome: Paid $500,000 in entry fees, nothing else, stillborn.
BrawnGP (2009-2009)
Championships: Team - 1, Drivers - 1
Races: 17, Wins: 8, Podiums: 15, Pole Positions: 5
This was definitely a legend in F1, a formidable dark horse. Brown took over the Honda team's mess and in 2009, a "plain white" car with no sponsorships rolled onto详情
