A boat beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July--
Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear--
Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die.
Autumn frosts have slain July.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.
In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
Ever drifting down the stream--
Lingering in the golden gleam--

The setting sun is shining upon the shine clouds,
The boat advances rippling like dreamsing.
Three children snuggle up to and rest on it together,
Eyes earnestly, ears that expected,
Listening to the simple story.
The clear sky has been already pale,
Echo and memory all disappear,
The frost in autumn replaces July.
Alice's unreal image still hovers,
Though I can not see,
But she still beats in the sky.
The children still lean together,
Earnest eyes, ears that expected,
A loved story is fascinated.
They place oneself in the midst of the wonderland,
Time passes in illusion,
The setting sun is under the dreamlike midwest.
Leave along the brook drift,
Ripple under golden Yu Hui,
Life is only illusion?
