on,in the front of,on front of的区别?

in the front of 在...的前部.（指在某一事物内部的前面.），在...范围内的前部分
如: He is sitting in the front of the classroom . 他坐在教室的前部.（教室内部）
in front of 在...（某物体外部）的前面.，指场所外或范围外
如：There is a big tree in front of the classroom. 教室的前面有一颗大树。(树在教室外)
至于on the front of和on front of这种方式我很少看到，个人觉得不太准确。有点中国式英语的味道。我只见过on the front在 ... 战线，在前线这种用法
如果非要解释，on在...的表面上 the front of在...的前部，后面跟个名词，
如：On the front of her bag is a picture of a pig。她的书包上有个猪的图案。
个人觉得这里On the front of并不是作为一个介词短语用的，应该分开来分析的吧，和in the front of 作为一个介词短语的用法不同。
反正我个人觉得On the front of和On front of这种用法很奇怪，至少我读书时候没见过，是否正确不知。
