Dear Tom,
Thank you for your delightful letter, which arrived yesterday. It was very kind of you to send me a copy of the English Chinese Dictionary. I really don’t know now to thank you enough.
Let me tell you something about my life. The new term has already begun. I’m now in my second year at the university. I’m not feeling like a stranger any more. And I’ve got quite a few good friends here.
We have a new teacher this term. He speaks English very fast and some of us find it difficult to follow him . but I think we'll soon get used to his way of teaching.
Last Sunday I saw a film. It was The Great Escape . It was about a group of European and American prisoners of war planning an escape from a German concentration camp. It was such a gripping story. I liken it very much indeed.
How are you getting on with your study? I hope to hear from you soon.
Please give my regards to your parents.
