对中国科学技术事业做出重要贡献，在国际上具有很高学术地位的外国籍学者、专家，可被推荐并当选为中国科学院外籍院士（以下简称外籍院士）。
Article 10
Scholars and specialists of foreign nationality who have made important contributions to the cause of science and technology in China and who enjoy high international academic standing may be nominated and elected foreign Members of the Chinese Academy
of Science (hereinafter referred to as “Foreign Members”).
