没有见过take place of的用法。
take the place of sb/sth是代替，替换的意思。也可以用take sb's/sth's place，意思一样。
例如：She can't attand the meeting,so her assistant wil take the place of her/take her place.(她无法出席会议，所以她的助手将代替他出席。)
