香港介绍(中英文对照)

香港，全称中华人民共和国香港特别行政区（粤语发音 说明 · 关于 ）是中华人民共和国[9]所辖的特别行政区，位处华南沿岸，珠江口以东，由香港岛、九龙半岛、新界内陆地区，以及262个大小岛屿组成[2]。北接广东省深圳市，南面是广东省珠海市万山群岛。

香港特别行政区是根据中国与英国共同签订的《中英联合声明》而成立的。香港自秦朝起明确成为中原领土，直至19世纪中叶清朝对外战败，领域分批被割让及租借予英国成为殖民地，香港从而开通港口发展。及至1980年代，中英两国落实香港前途，决定1997年7月1日香港结束英国统治，主权移交往中华人民共和国。中方承诺执行一国两制，主权移交后50年内不会实行中国大陆的社会主义，亦可享受外交及国防以外所有事务的高度自治权，是为“港人治港、高度自治”[10]。

第二次世界大战后，香港经济和社会迅速发展，不仅成为“亚洲四小龙”之一，也是全球最富裕、经济最发达和生活水平最高的地区之一。香港是亚洲重要的金融、服务和航运中心，并以廉洁的政府、良好的治安、自由的经济体系以及完善的法制而闻名于世[11]。

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Traditional Chinese: 香港特别行政区 [pronunciation]), commonly known as Hong Kong,[4] (Chinese: 香港) is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China, along with Macau. Comprising more than 260 islands, the territory is located on the eastern side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province in the north and facing the South China Sea in the east, west and south.

Hong Kong was a dependent territory of the United Kingdom from 1842 until the transfer of sovereignty to the People's Republic of China in 1997. The Sino-British Joint Declaration and the Basic Law of Hong Kong stipulate that Hong Kong operate with a high degree of autonomy until at least 2047, fifty years after the transfer. Under the policy of "one country, two systems", the Central People's Government is responsible for the territory's defense and foreign affairs, while Hong Kong maintains its own legal system, police force, monetary system, customs policy, immigration policy, and delegates to international organizations and events
