一、结构不同
need to be done是实意动词+介词+助动词+动词现在分词。need doing是实意动词+动名词。
二、用法不同
need to do sth“需要做某事”：此时主语与do之间为主动关系。need doing sth/need to be done“需要（被）做某事”：此时主语与do之间为被动关系。例如：

The car needs washing=The car needs to be washed.

您好，need to be done 和 need doing 的意思是一样的，唯一的区别在于：
1）need to be done = need + 动词不定式的（被动语态）
2）need doing = need + 动名词（主动语态）
在实际使用上，need doing = need to be done，也即是 need doing 实际上是（主动语态）表（被动）的用法；而 need to be done 是（被动语态）表（被动）。连个句子的最终结果是一样的，但使用 need doing 还是 need to be done 通常可以根据句子的其他动词决定。假如句子只要1个动词，那么两个都可以使用；假如句子有2个或更多的动词，通常会保持所有动词都是主动，或是都是被动，而不会主动和被动穿插在同一个句中，比如：
The bag needs mending. = The bag needs to be mended.
The tire needs replacing and the chain needs fixing.（都是主动表被动），而不是使用
