Madame Curie was a world famous woman scientist. She was born in a teacher's family in Poland in 1867 and died in 1934. From her childhood, she loved to study and hoped to become a scientist. At 24 she left for Paris and entered Paris University. She lived a very simple life and studied very hard. Madame Curie devoted her whole life to scientific research. She won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1903 and for chemistry in 1911. and she will be always remembered as a great woman scientist.

Madame Curie was one of the greatest scientists in the world. She was born on 7th November 1867 in Warsaw, and died on 4th July 1934. She first lived in Poland, then went to France.
When she was very young she was interested in science. At that time women were not admitted to universities in Poland, so she went to Paris University and studied there.
In 1895, she married Pierre curie, a very bright scientist, and then they worked together on the research into radioactive matter. They worked very hard and discovered the element radium, then they got the Nobel Prizes in 1903. In 1906, Pierre died. Marie was deeply shocked by Pierre's death but determined to go on working. Later, she won the Nobel Prizes again in 1911. She was the first female professor at Paris University, and she also became the first scientist in the world to win two Nobel Prizes.
