you can use "offered" or "having been offered"(听起来好别扭)。 both are ok. but not "being".
first of all, "being" sounds like some action or movement is going on. but here, "offered" provides a reason, not describing what is going on.
secondly, when two sentences are combined into one, subject(主语) and predicate(谓语) are taken away at the same time.
In this case, the original two sentences may look like this:
1. I was offered great help.
2. (So) I was able to get.....
So when you try to combine, take away "I" and "was" at the same time. Only "offered" is left.
