Write your composition in three paragraph s to
(1) compare the information contained in the table;
(2) give possible reasons;
(3) present your point of view.
It seems that the farming in the U.S. has changed dramatically from 1940s to 1980s. The population of farmer has decreased from 32million to 6 million only while the average farm size increased almost 3 times from 170 acres to 450 acreas. Another notable change is that the number of farms has also dropped to 1/3 of 1940s figure.
There maybe two main reasons that why the dramatic change has taken place in the U.S. First of all, the develpment of high-technology has modified farming population generally. The more machines used, the less mankinds needed.Secondly, people are tends to follow a more colorful and exciting life style so they have flowed into cities.
In my point of view, the U.S. is still a country with a great deal of agricultual products export. Although the trends indicated here are not very pleasant, the decrease in farming population and farms will not influence structure of American economy in a considerable way.
