in the front of是什么意思?

in the front of :在……的前部(指在某一事物内部的前面)，在……范围内的前部分。如:He is sitting in the front of the
classronm.他坐在教室的前部。(教室的内部)
in the front of :在……(在某物体外部)的前面，指场所外或范围外
如:There is a big tree in front of the
classroom.教室的前面有一颗大树。(树在教室外。)
至于on the front of 这种方式很少见到，个人认为不太准确。有点中国式的英语的感觉。 只见过:on the front 在……前线，在前线这种用法。
