explain“解释”、“说明”，普通用词，用途广泛，指试图说明事物的含义、原因、形成、过程
等，以使他人了解和理解。
account for “对……做出解释”、“说明……的原因”。

计账户（Accounting Account)
账户是指对会计要素的具体内容所作的科学的分类，其包括两方面的内容：账户的名称、账户的用途与结构。账户的基本结构应正确反映各要素的增减变动，其简略的结构一般由借方和贷方组成，形成一个“T”字型。

【账号解释】
账号是数字时代的代表，就是每个人在特定的项目中所代表自己的一些数字等。账号有时可以由中文或英文组成，甚至是一些符号。
不过，用贝字旁的“账”才是正确写法。古代时候贝曾经是货币，因此贝字旁的字才代表着和钱币有关的东西。而“帐”实际上是个错别字，但是因为有太多的人经常写成这个错别字，因此字典中的解释是“帐”有一个意思同“账”。
账号的账多数跟金钱有关。

【账号相关规定】
国家互联网信息办公室于2015年2月4日发布《互联网用户账号名称管理规定》，该规定自2015年3月1日施行。
《规定》就账号的名称、头像和简介等，对互联网企业、用户的服务和使用行为进行了规范，涉及在博客、微博客、即时通信工具、论坛、贴吧、跟帖评论等互联网信息服务中注册使用的所有账号。账号管理按照后台实名、前台自愿的原则，充分尊重用户选择个性化名称的权利，重点解决前台名称乱象问题。
互联网企业应当落实管理主体责任，配备与服务规模相适应的专业人员，对互联网用户提交的账号名称、头像和简介等注册信息进行审核，对含有违法和不良信息的，不予注册。对存在违法和不良信息的账号，应当采取通知限期改正、暂停使用、注销登记等措施。同时，企业还应保护用户信息及公民个人隐私，建立健全举报受理处置机制，自觉接受社会监督。
