如何区分谓语动词是否及物？

及物动词后面有宾语，没有宾语的就是不及物动词。
例1。A parallel situation exists in respect of predatory mammals and fish-eating birds.

exists是这里的谓语动词，后面加了in而不是它的宾语，所以不及物。
例2。On the other hand, he did not accept as well founded the charge.

这句话本身有误，不适合分析。
另举一例：
The police also found a pistol.
警察还发现了一把手枪。
这里的found是及物动词，a pistol是它的宾语。
