live in the city center. 这是“市中心”的一般说法。如果是“正中心”那块地区，就是 live in the center of the city 。如果只是一般意义上的“市里”，简单说 live in the city 就行了。

live in downtown “downtown”是指市中心，闹市区的繁华地带；“uptown ”指住宅区，远离闹市区的地方。 所以我认为用downtown 好一点

咱们说的市中心是指繁华，别的城市我不知道，老美会说具体的街道，或者说：I live in the up town.
