He experienced ups and downs at the young age , since he was a teenager , he has been treated as a Psychosis and tortured by others , as him gowning up , he has been sent to prison for against political dictatorship , till he almost 40 years old , destined for San Diego,and then he got some insight .
Because of the exciting experience of the writer, it is a miracle of the birth of this book. Not only let the reader feel the deep, but also give some useful advices to the people who into confusion.

Therefore, he sold the sheep , and struggled his way here for his dream , and in the way , sometimes curious things happened to him , and he also meet some interesting people , finally , by the conducted from an alchemist , he reached his destination and find the real treasure .

The book has mentioned destiny for several times. What does it mean? In my opinion, it means the goal and ideal. And how can we set a goal? And what can we do to complete the dream?

Everyone is Santiago, everyone has his destiny, in this story, in his father's permission. Santiago decided to be a shepherd instead of a priest. He left his hometown and wandered around. But during the trip , he has growth after pass each station , and also harvest a lot at the same time , learned some languages , made friends with different people, enjoy the vast desert and magnificent Egyptian pyramids , perhaps this is the real treasure for the boy .
But as for us, although we have beautiful dreams, we seldom catch them.Someone wants to be a chef, but when his parents said : If you want to be a cook,your wages are not enough to eat, so he decided to be a civil servant and give up his dream. And also maybe someone dream of being a soldier, but no one support him, so he only does a regular job.
However, each one of us is a unique, worthwhile individual, for our dream, if we try hard and unrequited, everyone eventually will get something.
