In recent years, with the prolonged continuous exploitation of (existing) oil fields, coupled with geological, engineering and other factors, has resulted in the growing numbers of deformation and damages to the oil well's casings. This has directly impacted the oil wells' production volume and the implementation of operational measures. Thus, the Casing Repair Technology has increasingly been used (deployed) at oil fields. As a result of this, there is also an increase in the exposure and application of casing finishing tools. This article mainly introduces some application analysis on the casing finishing tools through the contributing factors to the damaged casing and the type of casing failure. It comprehensively summarizes and analyzes various repairing tools' application on different casing conditions, effectively extending the mining life of oil wells.
