Abstract：With the rapid development of Internet, network technologies are emerging diversely. ASP （Active Server Page）that is active in the Web sites is one of such technologies developed in recent years. ASP offers strong functions, high-strength of ability, and there is little limitation in utilizing its functions. ASP is the script environment at the server end, and able to develop dynamic, interactive, and effective Web sites. The Web sites established with ASP can offer dynamic Web page. In this paper, the operation principle, features, and functions of ASP are described briefly first. Then the functions and implement methods of various modules of the system are analyzed, and chat room is developed using ASP and Access. Some problems such as user registration, chat interface, chat refreshing, screening of uncivilized languages are solved and described combining with source program, and a chat room having good man-machine interface is established.

With the rapid development of the Internet, a variety of net technologies are appearing. ASP,which is widely used in many websites,is one of the new technologies that have been developed these years. As a very functional and powerful technology, ASP can be used without any limitation. ASP is the script environment of server end,by which we can develop dynamic,interactive and efficient websites.
