有时rather可以表示一种“批评”，含有否定的意思；而fairly则表示“尽管有点不满意之处，但总的来说还是肯定”的意思。试比较下列例句：

事实上，A和C都是正确的答案。我费解，为什么只能选择C。

追答1 A 不行，因为结构不一样。a too difficult exam 是错的。 too difficult an exam是对的。
2 a fairly difficult exam是对的。 fairly == to some extent -----解释为“在某种程度上”.
