Core Activity: Teaching and Learning
Our core objectives in learning and teaching are to:
• meet the needs of the residents within the community for higher education through the programs we offer
• provide a skill-based learning experience for our students
• motivate staffs to excel in teaching
• offer an interesting learning experience in our programs to develop capabilities for global citizenship and work-readiness
• prepare our students for employment upon graduation
As a provider of international education, CITECH ensures that existing programs are informed by external advice and industry input so that they remain relevant to students and employers. CITECH focuses on the development of new programs, especially those in the area of finance, accounting and international business management with technology as a strong element.
The emphasis in the coming five years is to give students an interesting learning experience. We will organize more capability-based and professional activities through the course of learning; we will also provide students with more opportunities to experience what it takes to be a successful employee.
In the past five years, we aligned our resources mainly in China to ensure successful partnerships with quality programs. We will carry on in that direction. However, we will now examine more possibilities in the region as well as in countries such as United States of America and United Kingdom. Through the development of programs with bilingual and bicultural competencies in mind, we are able to attract students from both China and United States or United Kingdom to come to CITECH

Singapore for short term learning programs. We will focus resources on engaging international exchanges, improving student satisfaction and graduate outcomes, and supporting our staff to achieve these objectives.
We also place priority on equipping students with generic skills, occupational skills as well as industry specific skills. This is done by proactively seeking inputs from the industry, providing students opportunities to get closer to industries through practice study and by engaging more industry veterans with relevant academic backgrounds to teach.
We will support our staff to achieve these outcomes for our students by providing them with professional development and by rewarding their excellence as teachers.
The virtual and physical learning environments available to our students are an important part of their overall experience at CITECH. CITECH will start a new initiative to design new on-line learning and management system and invest in its learning environments, to ensure that CITECH students have access to the best possible learning spaces and online resources.
