我的第一问是：he is hard to understand.那么为什么不是to be understood呢？这个句子如果直译 我会理解成，这个人很难去明白 or这个人很难去懂，难道这个to直接不翻译，而是“这个人”很难懂”？

这里需要提一下，主动表示被动的一个句型。sth be＋形容词＋ to do.在这个句型当中，后面的动词不定式必须要用主动形式，不能用被动形式。而且前面的主语是后面动词的逻辑宾语。例如几个句子，他很难理解，可以换成，It is hard to understand him.

英语中有一些固定结构，约定俗成的。虽然逻辑上是被动，但用主动表示。he is hard to understand. 也可以写成it is hard to understand him. It is impossible to answer them. 主动表被动还有the book is worth reading. The room needs cleaning.

有的时候，过去分词也是动词后面加ed. 但是表达的是形容词不是动词结构。
