seat是及物动词，后边需要跟宾语，所以他和sit不及物动词是不一样的。I galnced the man seated on the table=I glanced the man sitting on the table. 看出区别了么？再举个例子，tom, sit down= tom, seat youself. sit不用宾语就能表达坐下，但是seat必须要有个宾语，所以会出现 .... the man seated. man在这做seat的宾语，...sitting, man在这时候做sit的主语。（主谓关系能理解吧？要是能理解那么你应该能明白这个单词的用法和意思了）
